Autonomic Dysreflexia and Pain Management –

Dr Aiza Ahmad

Dr Aiza Ahamad is a Rehabilitation Physician with broad experience across metro and regional health systems in Australia. She is the clinical lead for spinal cord injury service development for Hunter through NSW Health and provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation at John Hunter Hospital, as well as consultations in Belmont and Maitland.

Her expertise includes pain management, stroke and neurological rehabilitation, and complex trauma care. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Ahmad works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that each patient receives tailored, holistic care to improve their quality of life.

 

Assessing and Managing Spasticity –

Dr Roslyn Mozer and Dr Alex Dennis

Dr Roslyn Mozer is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician with special interest in assessing and managing spasticity.
Dr Mozer is the Clinical Lead for abnormal muscle tone and movement disorders for the Rehabilitation Medicine Department Rankin Park Centre Tone & Function Service Hunter New England LHD.

 

Dr Alex Dennis is a Rehabilitation Physician consulting privately at Thornton and Lambton, with public appointments at Maitland and Kurri Kurri Hospitals. A former physiotherapist, he brings a unique perspective to patient care and has a special interest in spasticity and dystonia management using botulinum toxin injections. Dr Dennis is also a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle.

Bladder & Bowel Management –

Edwina Spooner

Edwina Spooner is a Senior Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience across ICU, CCU, and continence care. She is passionate about normalising conversations around bladder and bowel management and is committed to making life easier for her patients. With expertise in clinical teaching and education, Edwina brings a wealth of knowledge to support best-practice continence care and empower both patients and health professionals.
