MOVICOL® removal from the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme (PBS) notification – 10th October 2024

Effective 1 November 2024

BrightSky Australia, the social enterprise of Forward Ability Australia, have been informed by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, that Movicol, NE – MACROGOL-3350 + SODIUM CHLORIDE + BICARBONATE + POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, will be deleted from the PBS, effective from 1 November 2024.

Please refer to the PBS website here for the summary of changes effective 1 November 2024 as advance notice of the deletion of this product from the PBS. Unfortunately, the decision to remove Movicol® from the PBS was made by the manufacturer Norgine and is outside of Forward Ability Support’s and BrightSky Australia’s control.

Whilst Movicol® will be removed from the PBS, Movicol® will still be available to purchase from BrightSky Australia (BrightSky Australia Code 208895 – Movicol Lemon Lime Sachet 13.7g Box 30). Forward and BrightSky Australia understand that that the removal of Movicol® from the PBS may affect which products you order in the future. Whilst this product is still available to purchase, we encourage you to seek advice from your health care professional about suitable alternative products listed under the PBS Scheme that are available from BrightSky Australia.
